John FelmyJohn Felmy is Chief Economist of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and will explain what it takes to get oil out of the ground and gas into your car. He will also explain the magnitude of the oil industry.

Michael ChiacosMichael Chiacos leads the Community Environmental Council’s (CEC) transportation program. He will talk about the different types of alternative fuels and give the pros and cons of each, both from an environmental impact and a cost benefit to the consumer.

Bruce DaleBruce Dale is Professor of Chemical Engineering at Michigan State University and a leading researcher in the environmentally sustainable conversion of plant matter to bio fuels. He will drill into bio fuels and explain the different source materials and which ones make the most sense from a sustainable perspective.

Steve PueppkeSteve Pueppke is director of the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES) and is also the Director of the MSU Office of Bio-based Technologies. He will explain what it takes to go from the lab to commercialization.

Nancy YoungNancy Young is Vice President of Environmental Affairs for the Air Transport Association (ATA) and leads the association’s expanding environmental activities. Nancy will talk about a recent initiative among the airlines to explore the use of bio fuels as an alternative to jet fuel.
